Fanad Table Lamp

The first lamp in the five lamps collection is the Fanad table lamp. It is inspired by a visit to Fanad Head Lighthouse in county Donegal a number of years ago. Its my favourite lighthouse and one of the most elegant designed by George Halpin in the 19th century. Lighthouses in general have always been somewhat mysterious to me. I grew up by the sea in north Dublin and would look out on Rockabill lighthouse as a child and think about all the boats that would rely upon it in stormy weather. My Grandfather was a fisherman fishing lobsters and crabs in Loughsinny and always thought that the lighthouse was a beacon or spire of light to guide weary fishermen home.

The Fanad table lamp is tall and sleek and with its long tubular spiral filament LED bulb provides ample light to any space. A simple and elegant design that's perfect for those areas where you need a less imposing more subtle lamp. Perfect for work or study areas or even on shelves or tight to fit areas.

It uses an old 1.25 kg weight plate from a barbell weightlifting set which was purchased and upcycled from a local buy and sell app and has been retreated and painted mat black. This gives it the perfect grounding to accentuate the beautiful form of the copper pipe above.

The copper pipe used is salvaged from the heating and plumbing and renewable sector in Ireland and over 75% of the material used has been recycled.

The clever design incorporates a dimmer switch which unlocks the true potential of the exposed LED bulb. It can be dimmed from a low to high setting with ease which gives the lamp real functionality meaning it can be used in a multitude of settings.

This lamp is a real conversation piece and will not only lighten up your space with a delicate and ambient tone but will also add a quirky and artistic note.
